Welcome Campers on Mission

In late April Campers on Mission have scheduled a two week stay at the High Plains Retreat Center to provide assistance with some major improvements. They will be working on showers and restrooms in several cabins. We have also talked to them about constructing curtains as well as internal and external painting. We know we will need plumbing and tile (both shower and floor) supplies. We will also need groups (civic and community) to help provide meals for the guest builders. If your group would be willing to provide meals, or portions of meals, please contact hprcmanager@gmail.com
We were blessed during our first year of operating the Retreat Center as a nonprofit facility. More guests stayed with us than the year before. We were able to observe a cash-flow balance last year thanks to those camp groups, churches and individuals who used and contributed to the Retreat Center.
Our vision for the Retreat Center this year is to improve what we have and add other features to provide more activities for our guests. A list of items can be found below. Some of these are easier to accomplish than others. Some will be completed this spring while others will be added later. Some will need to be installed by professionals; others will be accomplished by friends of the Retreat Center. If individuals and groups continue to help us with donations of time, materials, supplies, or financial contributions, we will be blessed and the Retreat Center will be improved.
One of the improvement projects we want to accomplish right away is to create a smaller space at the Retreat Center for our guests by remodeling one of our cabins into two motel style rooms. These will be a great new space for guests desiring additional privacy. We will need some building construction, plumbing and paint items.
